Detroit man dies after struck by early morning gunfire in Dearborn Heights
WAYNE COUNTY (WWJ) - One man is dead following an early morning shooting in Dearborn Heights on Thursday, authorities confirmed.
According to the Dearborn Heights Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call for help near the intersection of Old Colony and Evergreen just before 4:30 a.m.
When they arrived at the scene, they found one victim -- who they believe is a 21-year-old resident of Detroit -- had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
Based on preliminary evidence, investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. Additional information on a possible suspect and circumstances surrounding the shooting is pending further investigation.
