WARREN (WWJ) -- A young Detroit man is facing felony charges across multiple Macomb County jurisdictions following a string of alleged vehicle break-ins.
Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido announced Thursday that 18-year-old Rajah Jamir Rayshaun Pritchard-Dixon has been bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court in two separate cases out of Warren.
The Warren charges stem from the overnight hours of May 22 of this year, when Pritchard-Dixon allegedly broke into five Dodge Ram pickup trucks and stole or attempted to steal their infotainment systems.
During an appearance on Thursday, August 20, in 37th District Court, Pritchard-Dixon waived his right to preliminary examination hearings in both cases and was bound over to Circuit Court.
In the first Warren case, Pritchard-Dixon faces a charge of Larceny – $20,000 or More, which carries up to 10 years in prison. In the second case, he is charged with Attempted Larceny from a Motor Vehicle and Breaking and Entering – A Vehicle with Damage to Vehicle, both five-year felonies.
His bond is set at $25,000 cash/surety with a 10% option for each case, with a condition that he wear a steel cuff tether if released. He is scheduled for arraignment before Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Anthony R. Servitto on Monday, Sept. 28.
“Those who break into vehicles and steal valuable property will be held accountable,” Lucido said, in a statement. “We will continue to work with law enforcement to protect our communities and ensure those accused of committing these crimes are prosecuted.”
Pritchard-Dixon also faces Larceny – $20,000 or More charges in three additional Macomb County communities.
He was arraigned in Roseville’s 39th District Court, where bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety, with his next hearing coming up on Sept. 8.
In St. Clair Shores' 40th District Court his bond is again $10,00 cash/surety each for two cases cases. Preliminary exams in that city are set for on Sept 4.
Lastly, he has a case in Eastpointe's 38th District Court with a $30,000 cash/surety bond, and a preliminary exam scheduled for Sept. 8
