DETROIT (WWJ) – A Detroit family is pleading for answers more than two months after a loved one was gunned down by unwanted guests at his mother's birthday party.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for tips that lead to the arrest of the shooter who killed 34-year-old Antonio Holloway of Detroit.

Holloway, an Amazon truck driver, was shot and killed at his mom's 52nd birthday party on July 17 at her home in the 12800 block of Pierson, near I-96 and Evergreen on the city's west side.

Officials say two guests showed up to the party uninvited and around 2:20 a.m. that Sunday Holloway confronted one of them about bringing a gun to the party.

An altercation ensued and eventually escalated to violence when one of the uninvited men pulled out a gun and shot Holloway in the back five times in front of his family.

His mother attempted CPR, but it was unsuccessful and he died at the scene.

More than two months later, the family is still begging for answers that help police find the suspects.

Family members said at a Crime Stoppers press conference Wednesday they did not know the gunman, but he came with people they knew.

Holloway's mother, Tequila Holloway, is devastated by her son's death and is calling on the community to put an end to gun violence.

"I'm very disappointed that our people will not get the grip that we can't keep doing this to each other, because in a lot of people's eyes, this is fine that we're hurting each other like this," she said. "We have to come together, people. We have to stop. We have to break this new code that they have of killing each other. We have to show love, we have to come together, unify and love."

Crime Stoppers is asking anyone who knows something about Holloway's death to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. All tipsters will remain anonymous and rewards will be paid when an arrest is made. Crime Stoppers does not wait for a conviction to make payments.

Detroit police on Thursday released a photo of the two men. The man in the gray sweatshirt is the suspected shooter.
