DETROIT (WWJ) – A man and woman from Detroit have been charged for their roles in the shooting of a Michigan State Police trooper on Detroit’s west side early Tuesday morning.
Andrae Scott, Jr., 28, and Robin K. Hall, 23, are each facing felony charges after the shooting, which happened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex in the 23630 block of Schoolcraft Road in Detroit, just east of Telegraph Road.
Authorities said earlier this week undercover MSP trooper Devin Kachar was working a narcotics case at the Infinity Apartment complex that morning when Scott allegedly fired multiple shots, hitting the 10-year veteran of the department.
Kachar was taken to a hospital in critical condition. His condition as of Thursday afternoon was not clear.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office says Hall was determined to be an accessory after the fact and lied to police.
While Detroit police arrested Scott and Hall later the same day, aspects of the case remain under investigation and will be presented in court at the preliminary exam, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Scott has been charged with assault with intent to murder, possession with intent to deliver cocaine and two counts of felony firearm. His bond was set at $1 million
Hall, meanwhile, is charged with accessory after the fact to a felony and lying to a police officer. She received a $250,000 cash bond.
They were both arraigned in Detroit’s 36th District Court Thursday afternoon.
