DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit Police say a suspect is now in custody, accused of shooting at a car with a family inside.
Police said the shooting happened on Tuesday, March 3, shortly before 1 p.m. in the area of Purtian and Prevost, near Greenfield and McNichols. According to authorities, the suspect fired shots into the victim's vehicle.
Three children, ages 10, 1, and 7 months, were inside at the time. They were not hurt.
The gunfire struck the victim, a man in his 20s. He drove himself to a business on McNichols (15800 block). First responders arrived there and rushed him to the hospital, police said.
Police have not released the circumstances leading up to the shooting, a potential motive, or information on the relationship between the suspect and the victim, if any.
Police said that the suspects is now in custody. However, his name and details of the charges have not yet been released, pending an arraignment.
