DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding a teenage boy who went missing in Detroit over the weekend.
Authorities said 17-year-old Niguel Haywood left his home without permission in the 8600 block of Beechdale Avenue on the city's west side, at approximately 1 p.m. Sunday, and failed to return.
Haywood is described as a Black male, 5'3" tall and weighing around 120 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair.
Police said he was last seen wearing a dark gray jacket, black jogging pants and black Nike boots.
According to his mother, he "suffers from mental illness."
