Detroit police ask for public's help in finding man who shot teenager

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police in Detroit are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a man they say is responsible for shooting a 19-year-old man on Tuesday.

Authorities are searching for 31-year-old Kasaras Kemp, who they say shot the teen around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Norwood and E. Outer Drive, on the city’s northeast side.

It’s not clear what led up to the shooting, but police say the teenager was taken to a nearby hospital and is still recovering.

Kemp allegedly fled the scene in a gray Jeep Cherokee. Police released an image of that Jeep that was caught on surveillance footage.
