DETROIT (WWJ) – A member of Detroit’s Board of Police Commissioners has been issued a citation after he was allegedly caught with a sex worker in his vehicle, according to multiple reports.

Commissioner Bryan Ferguson was reportedly in the area of Schaefer and Schoolcraft around 7 a.m. Wednesday when an undercover deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office saw him “engaging in a sex act in his truck,” according to a report from WXYZ.

Ferguson was cited for “indecent obscene conduct,” according to the report. Fox 2 in Detroit reported Ferguson’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

Officials with the Detroit Police Department said in a statement they were aware that one of the board’s commissioners was “caught in alleged illegal activity,” but had not seen the police report so it would therefore “not be appropriate to comment,” according to Fox 2’s report.

Ferguson has been on the board since 2022 and was chairman until July 1, 2023, according to WXYZ.

Ferguson allegedly told the undercover deputy that he is a commissioner and asked an official if they could “help me out,” according to WXYZ. The woman he is “alleged to have been intimate with,” was also cited with indecent obscene conduct, the report said.

Ferguson refutes the series of events -- saying the woman was actually fleeing from a man and she was screaming, saying the man was trying to kill her. She then jumped into his truck without permission. The Detroit Police Department says they are aware of the situation.

WXYZ reports Ferguson was reached by phone Wednesday afternoon and “adamantly denied that he was engaging in any sexual contact with the woman.” Refuting the claims, he said he was driving his truck Wednesday morning when he “heard a noise coming from the truck bed.”

That’s when, according to Ferguson, he pulled over to investigate and saw the woman fleeing from a man and screaming. She then jumped into his vehicle without permission, according to his account, the report said.

“I start screaming at her: Get the F out of my truck. I was cussing — get the F out of my truck. Get out. Get out right now!'” Ferguson told WXYZ.

He says he told the woman he didn’t care that someone was trying to kill her and as he was trying to push her out when the deputy’s SUV pulled up, according to WXYZ’s report. He told the station he doesn’t understand why deputies believed he was engaging in a sex act and only told them of his position on the board when they said they recognized him, the report said.
