(WWJ) Detroit Police are investigating two drive-by shootings that injured three people on the city's west side.

The first happened around 5 p.m. Monday on Greenfield near Outer Drive, according to investigators.

One victim told police they were being followed by a red Chevy Equinox, so they pulled into a driveway. At that point, the victim said someone in the SUV shot at them.

A 24-year-old woman was seriously injured. A 30-year-old woman who just happened to be passing through the area was also struck and seriously injured.

The second shooting happened the same evening, at around 8:30 p.m., in the area of McNichols and the Lodge Freeway. The victim, a 33-year-old man, told police a vehicle drove by and someone inside it started shooting.

The man suffered a single gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police do not believe that these two incidents are related. No arrests have been made, and there is no description of any suspects at this time.

Anyone with information about either of these shootings can call Detroit Police at 313-267-4600, or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 1-800-SPEAK UP (1-800-773-2587).
