DETROIT (WWJ) — More than a dozen people have been arrested following a series of raids on Detroit’s west side earlier this week that led to the seizure of nearly $30,000 worth of drugs, several guns and cash.
On Tuesday, Jan. 28 the Detroit Multijurisdictional HIDTA Task Force worked with the Gang Intel and VICE units to execute three search warrants on Montrose Street, near Greenfield and Schoolcraft Roads.
During the operation, authorities made one felony arrest and 12 misdemeanor arrests. Officials did not release any information about the people who were arrested.
Officers also seized five handguns, an “AK-47-style rifle” and a shotgun, along with multiple rounds of ammunition, high-capacity magazines and a bulletproof vest, DPD officials said Wednesday.
Authorities also seized 13.5 grams of cocaine, 12.9 grams of fentanyl and just over $1,500 in cash. The drugs have a total street value of $28,620, according to police.
Officials have not said what prompted the searches at the locations on Montrose.
It was not clear what charges may be filed against those who were arrested.
