Detroit police asking for help identifying men involved in gas station shootout

DETROIT (WWJ) – Police are asking for help from the community identifying a pair of suspects involved in a shooting at a gas station in Detroit last weekend.

Detroit police on Wednesday released photos of two suspects who fired shots outside an Exxon gas station on the corner of Mack Avenue and Chrysler Drive.


Authorities have not released many details about the incident, including what led to the gunfire or whether anyone was injured.

The photos released Wednesday show one man wearing an orange sweatshirt holding a gun and running away from a silver Chevy SUV.

The other man is seen wearing a black coat and dark sweatshirt entering the store.

It was not clear whether they fired shots at each other or someone else. Authorities didn't say how many shots were fired during the incident.

Detroit police officials are asking anyone who recognizes either man or knows something about the shooting to call the 7th Precinct at 313-596-5700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
