DEARBORN (WWJ) -- A suspect is on the loose following a police chase that started in Detroit and ended with a crash in Dearborn.

Detroit Police say they were searching for a man who allegedly robbed someone at gunpoint on Monday night while they were unloading groceries near McNichols and Grand River.

Officers then spotted a blue Chrysler 300 which fit the description of the getaway car driven by the suspect, according to the robbery victim.

Authorities say the chase started near 6 Mile and Telegraph roads when police tried to initiate a traffic stop of the suspect, who fled the scene.

After a pursuit that led them from Detroit to Dearborn, the chase ended when the suspect rear ended a patrol vehicle at Ford and Telegraph roads, and then took off on foot.

As of Wednesday morning, he remains on the run from police.

Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to contact the Detroit Police Department.
