DETROIT (WWJ) – More than two dozen people have been arrested after a three-day operation by the Detroit Police Department.

DPD officials say the 9th Precinct Ceasefire, Special Ops and other partners carried out Operation Jaguar over three days last week, aiming to reduce crime in the city.

Operation Jaguar concluded on Friday, May 16 and police officials released the statistics from that operation on Tuesday:

• 26 felony arrests
• 23 weapons recovered
• 43 vehicles impounded
• 501 tickets issued
• 5 search warrants conducted
• 314 traffic stops
• 11 Michigan Department of Corrections checks

Authorities also said they recovered narcotics during the operation, but did not specify an amount.

Officials did not disclose any information about the people who were arrested or any specific charges they will be facing.

The crackdown comes as Detroit Police Chief James White is fighting to reduce gun violence across the city. Just last weekend, there were two shootings downtown, including one where officers exchanged fire with suspects in a shootout.
