(WWJ) It didn't take long for Vice President Harris' campaign to jump on former President Donald Trump's disparaging remarks made about Detroit, during a visit to Detroit this week.

The Harris Campaign is planning to use the remarks in an ad that will air during the Tigers' ALDS Game 5, set for Saturday afternoon in Cleveland, as well as during the Lions vs. Cowboys game in Dallas on Sunday.

The minute-long ad, already posted to YouTube, slams Trump for being completely out of touch with the city of Detroit and Michiganders.

Watch the “Like Detroit" Harris campaign ad before it airs here:

It features the voice of Detroit native and actor Courtney B. Vance, who says: "They said we were dead...that our best days were behind us...but we said f— that! We rebuilt ourselves, we looked out for each other, got our hands dirty, and put in the hard work. And this guy (insert photo of Trump) he don't know anything about that."

"We are a city of winners," that voiceover continues, "of up-and-comers, of builders. The Motor City; bigger and better. Here, we believe in freedom. We don't bow down to nobody, and we never will."

The ad features images of boxers, The Fist, downtown buildings, autoworkers from the past and today, and concludes with a graphic that morphs the motto "Detroit vs. Everybody" into "Detroit vs. Trump."

This comes after Trump raised eyebrows, and some ire, during a speech at the Motor City Casino on Thursday, when he told members of the Detroit Economic Club:

"The whole country will be like, you want to know the truth? It'll be like Detroit. Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she's your president; you're gonna have a mess on your hands... We're not going to let her do that to this country. We're not gonna let it happen."

During a long-running speech, the GOP nominee focused quite a bit on the automotive industry, saying it's "always been very dear to my heart."

Trump suggested that Harris doesn't care about this and other economic issues, as he opined, "I don't think anything we're talking about today is high on her list."

"But, we have to make that industry bigger, better, stronger and more dynamic than ever before," Trump continued. "And I've been reading about Detroit for so many years that 'it's coming around, it's coming around'...and never really got there."

Among many local leaders who swiftly responded to Trump's comments, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan posted on X: "Detroit just hosted the largest NFL Draft in history, the Tigers are back in the playoffs, the Lions are headed to the Super Bowl, crime is down and our population is growing. Lots of cities should be like Detroit. And we did it all without Trump’s help."

Also commenting on the matter was Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who wrote: "Detroit is the epitome of 'grit,' defined by winners willing to get their hands dirty to build up their city and create their communities—something Donald Trump could never understand. So keep Detroit out of your mouth. And you better believe Detroiters won’t forget this in November."
