DETROIT (WWJ) A Detroit woman is fighting for her life after responding to a knock on the door.
Police say the victim, 26, heard a knock at her front door and went to see who was there around 2:15 a.m. Saturday at her home on Kilbourne near Chalmers and I-94.
At that point, an unknown suspect fired multiple shots and struck her.
She is hospitalized in critical condition.
Many mysteries still remain about the tragedy including if the suspect and the victim knew each other and the motive, if any.
The suspect remains on the run.
