(WWJ) – Marijuana has long been vilified as "a gateway drug." A drug that will only lead to heavier drug use and lead to an increase in crime.
That has often been the main argument against the legalization of marijuana. Recreational pot has been legal in Michigan since 2018, but has the state seen a spike in crime, like many predicted?
What about the rest of the country? The topic was the focus of a recent Audacy Investigates story by Mark Menard. In a new Daily J, WWJ's Zach Clark spoke with him about what he uncovered in his research. He also talked with a Michigan attorney who helped write the state's marijuana law and found out what damage has been done in Michigan.
