TAYLOR (WWJ) -- A Downriver firefighter is recovering after sustaining major burns while on the job Wednesday morning.
According to the Taylor Fire Department, the firefighter responded to a fire at Preferred Packaging Solutions along Wick Road near Inkster Road around 7:30 a.m.
Officials said the fire was quickly contained; however, the firefighter was injured with second-degree burns.
He is recovering at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
The fire is still under investigation, according to Taylor Fire Chief Stephen Portis.
