Downriver school bus full of children slides off road into ditch

MONROE COUNTY (WWJ) - Students heading to school in Monroe County started Thursday morning off with a bit of a scare after their bus slid off the road and into a ditch.

The Dundee Fire Department told WWJ that a school bus for the Dundee School District had roughly 25 to 30 students on board when it became stuck in the mud on Bunce and Day roads near Dundee during the morning hours.

As the driver attempted to free the school bus, it ended up sliding into a ditch.

Fire officials said no serious injuries were reported.

Another bus arrived to transport the children to school where they were met by their parents. the fire department added.

No other details were released.
