Detroit police asking for help identifying man who climbed gate of parking lot in Brush Park, broke into multiple cars

DETROIT (WWJ) — The search is on for a man suspected of stealing from multiple cars in Detroit’s Brush Park neighborhood.

The Detroit Police Department’s 3rd Precinct on Monday shared photos of a man who allegedly broke into several cars within a gated parking lot and stole items.

While authorities did not specify what the man took, officials say the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1 in the 2900 block of John R, a few blocks north of I-75.

Photos show the man, wearing a dark gray sweatshirt, black pants and a dark beanie, climbing the locked gate to the parking lot.

No other details about the incident have been released, including how many cars the suspect allegedly broke into.

Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or knows something about the burglaries to call Officer Wheeler at 313-596-5340 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800 SPEAK-UP.
