DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit Police are asking for the community's help identifying a suspect in a pair of New Years Day carjackings.

According to police, both incidents occurred between 4:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Sunday, January 1.

The first carjacking took place in the 18000 block of Dequindre when a man approached a 24-year-old woman and demanded her black 2021 Jeep Cherokee. He then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.

Only twenty minutes later, the same individual is believed to have come up on a 36-year-old man in the 19300 block of Ryan and stolen his black 2013 Dodge Charger.
