Detroit police turning to public for help in locating two missing children, ages 12 & 13

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Police are seeking help from the public in their search for two missing young people who disappeared just days apart.

Police have asked the public to keep an eye out for missing 12-year-old Meiya Casey, who was last seen early Saturday morning, and 13-year-old Yousif Alogaili, who disappeared Monday morning.

According to police, Casey left her home in the 9900 block of Hubbell, near Orangelawn, without permission around 5 a.m. on May 6th. She has not been seen or heard from since.

The 12-year-old is described as a Black female, standing 5' 2" tall and weight apporximently 130 lbs. She has black hair and brown eyes. Casey was last seen wearing a black ‘Nike’ hooded sweatshirt and black leggings.

Anyone with any information about Casey has been asked to contact the Detroit Police Department's 2nd Precinct at (313) 596-5201.

Two days later, police said 13-year-old Alogaili was reported missing after he failed to return home after school. He was last seen in the morning in the 6300 block of Abington near Paul, which borders Dearborn.

Alogaili is described as police as Arabic with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5' tall and weighs 122 lbs. He was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, blue jeans, and red and black ‘Nike’ shoes.

If anyone has seen Alogaili or may known his whereabouts has been asked to call the department's 6th Precinct at (313) 596-5601.
