DETROIT (WWJ) -- Two people were arrested overnight after trying to get away from Michigan State Police on I-96 at the Davison.
MSP said, just after midnight, troopers with the Second District attempted to pull over the driver of a Chrysler 300 who was allegedly speeding at 100 mph in a 70 mph zone.
The driver sped away, police said, but was eventually tracked to a home on Birwood Street in Detroit.
MSP said four people got out and ran from the car, but the 18-year-old driver and a 25-year-old passenger were caught and taken into custody. Police said a stolen Glock 19 handgun was also recovered from the scene.
There were no injuries to the public, suspects or troopers, police said.
An investigators report will be submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office which will determine charges. MSP added: "This is another example of our crime reduction efforts in Metro Detroit."
No names were released.
