DETROIT (WWJ) - It's been almost three weeks since a 59-year-old man was hit and killed by a driver on Detroit's east side, but police say they are relentless in bringing the suspect responsible to justice.
According to the Detroit Police Department, the fatal hit and run occurred on Monday, March 20 just before 8:30 p.m. They said the victim, a 59-year-old man, was in the roadway in the area of Harper and Annsbury when a vehicle crashed into him.
When police arrived on scene, they discovered the victim's body in street.
Through their investigation, detectives determined the man was fatally hit by an unknown suspect behind the wheel of a blue Chevy Impala that would've sustained front end damage in the crash.
The department released surveillance footage to the public in hopes someone may recognize the suspect car.
The vehicle was last seen going southbound on Dickerson, then eastbound on Chandler Park Dr.
