OTSEGO COUNTY (WWJ)— A crash claimed the life of a man driving a garbage truck in Northern Michigan.
In a statement on X; Michigan State Police Seventh District said a GFL garbage truck was traveling west in Bagley Township near Gaylord on Friday (7/19). The truck struck a tree and ran off the road, at Schuss Lane in the area of Conifer Trail.
Troopers found the man unresponsive at the scene. They administered CPR until paramedics arrived, State Police said.
The driver, 43 of Kalkaska, died of his injuries at a local hospital. His name has not been released.
State Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
