Eastpointe couple facing charges for breaking into over 20 storage units

EASTPOINTE (WWJ) - A couple celebrated Christmas in a jail cell after authorities after they were arrested for allegedly breaking into and stealing from almost two dozen storage units in Eastpointe, authorities said.

Charles Henry Cleary , 43, and Angila Mary Miller, 38, were arrested by detectives from the Eastpointe Police Department last week in connection to multiple storage unit thefts.

"The two are thought to be responsible for over 20 thefts in storage units in the southwest area of our city," the department said in a post to social media. "We also recovered a large amount of what is thought to be stolen property from a home in Detroit."

The pair where charged with breaking and entering and possession of burglar's tools. Clearly was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Both were arraigned on Friday in 38th District Court where bonds where bonds was set for Clearly at $150,000 and $50,000 for Miller.

They are being held in the Macomb County Jail in Mount Clemens.

"Great collaborative work by our Detectives and Patrol Officers to locate and arrest these suspects," the department added.

Recent
