(WWJ) The Detroit Police Department is asking for help to identify and locate a pair of suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery on the city's east side.

On Sunday, January 10, at 7:40 p.m., two unknown men walked into a dollar store in the 17000 block of E. Warren, and began speaking with an employee.

While standing at the store's front entrance, police said suspect number one pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the worker — a 53-year-old man — and demanded that he lay down on the floor.

Suspect two stood watch at the main entrance, while the gunman took "a large amount" of money from the cash drawers, then made another employee open and empty out the store's safety deposit box.

The suspects then fled on foot with the cash, heading north on Farmbrooks Street.

Suspect one is described as a Black male with a medium build, last seen wearing a black hat, black hooded sweater, tan pants and white Nike gym shoes. He was carrying a black duffle bag with a white symbol and was armed with a handgun.
