FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) -- A Farmington Hills man is facing a first-degree murder charge in the brutal killing of his own grandmother.
Zeff Nikollbibaj, 34, accused of attacking 78-year-old Ana Nikollbibaj in her home on June 30.
The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office said he shot his grandmother in the head and bludgeoned her with a metal pry bar.
Police responded and discovered her unconscious on her bedroom floor, suffering from severe head trauma and lacerations. She later died at the hospital.
“Ana Nikollbibaji’s murder is especially shocking because the alleged killer is her grandson,” said said Prosecutor Keren McDonald, in a statement. “Sadly, this is a reminder that domestic violence takes many forms. While nothing we do will bring Ana back, we will work to hold her killer accountable.”
Bond was denied for Zeff Nikollbibaj, at his arraignment Thursday afternoon.
If convicted of first-degree murder, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The next hearing in the case was scheduled for July 10.
