FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) -- Farmington Hills police are increasing police presence at city parks after a man was found murdered last Sunday.
Police said the body of the 64-year old man was discovered in Woodland Hills Park, along Farmington Road near I-696, on May 3.
Police are not saying how the man was killed.
There have been no arrests in the case., and no suspects have been named or described.
As the investigation continues, police said officers will patrol the parks more due to concern voiced in the community.
Farmington Hills Police Chief John Piggott said, in a statement: "The department is using all available resources to bring this investigation to a close. Farmington Hills is known for being a safe community, and this type of incident is very rare."
Those visiting the city's parks are urged to remain aware of their surroundings, take ordinary safety precautions and call police if you see any suspicious activity.
Investigators are also asking anyone who was at the park on Sunday to call police at 248-871-2610, as they may have information that could help in the case.
At the request of the family, police said they will not be releasing the name of the victim at this time.
