(WWJ) The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and you may have left your coat at home — but how long will this spring-like weather last?
AccuWeather's answer: At least a few more days.
It was a mild late winter day in metro Detroit on Monday, with a delightful mix of sun and clouds and comparatively balmy temperatures reaching in the mid-60s.
Looking into the week: "Tomorrow (Tuesday) still mild; not quite as warm though as today with a mix of sun and clouds, high 58 downtown, and we'll get about 60 again in some western suburbs," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson.
"Turning out breezy and warm on Wednesday with clouds, and there could be a shower in spots north and west of the city," he said.
While it may rain both Wednesday and Thursday — with a thunderstorm possible on Thursday — Thompson said it'll stay unseasonably warm, with highs again in the 60s.
As for the bad news: We'll get back down into the 50s on Friday, with highs only in the 40s at best both Saturday and Sunday and into next week... when metro Detroit could see some snow.
