FERNDALE (WWJ) -- A dangerous suspect is hospitalized after being shot by Ferndale Police.
Just before 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, a man wearing body armor and carrying an assault rifle walked into the 7-Eleven on 9 Mile Road in Ferndale, and walked out with a large amount of money.
According to police, the suspect fired a shot off in the convenience store, though no one was hurt.
A short time later, police were able to find the suspect in his car in a neighborhood on Sherman near 9 Mile in Oak Park.
When they tried to pull him over, he fled -- that was when one of the officers shot the suspect.
He was taken to the hospital and was most recently listed in critical condition.
No officers were hurt in the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
