SALINE (WWJ) Officials are assessing the damage from an overnight fire at a plant in Washtenaw County.
Fire officials told WWJ the flames broke out at Faurecia auto supplier plant in Saline on Michigan Avenue, near Ann Arbor Street, Monday evening.
The Saline Post reports a transformer box on the roof caught fire—prompting a call to firefighters around 7 p.m. They stayed on scene for about three hours, according to the Saline Post.
No injuries were reported.
However, the flames damaged the part of the plant where the fire broke out. Work is slated to resume Wednesday at the other portion of the plant.
It’s too early to tell whether or not the damage from the fire will have a meaningful impact on supplying parts to automakers.
Faurecia is a French-based auto parts supplier.
