WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) A fire ripped through an apartment complex in Washington Township, the Macomb County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office said the flames broke out at the Stony on Van Dyke Apartments on Stony Drive, in the area of 27 Mile and Van Dyke Avenue, early in the morning on Wednesday, March 19.

WWJ's Mike Campbell described a portion of the 204-unit apartment complex as "pretty much shot."
"One of those set of four in each unit has completely burned, gutted from from the inside out," Campbell reported. "It's brick, so the outside stands, but the roof is gone. You can see right through the interior. Nothing left on the inside."
The fire attacked two of the buildings, each with four units. Of those eight units, four were a total loss.

A spokesperson with the sheriff's office said multiple departments assisted at the scene. She did not specify the cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
