FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) -- Tips are wanted as investigators in Farmington Hills search for a hit-and-run driver involved in a crash that left a pedestrian in critical condition last Friday.
According to the Farmington Hills Police Department, the crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. on April 10, along 8 Mile Road, west of Middlebelt near Sunnydale.
Police said the pedestrian was attempting to cross 8 Mile Road when they were struck by an SUV traveling westbound. The driver of the SUV stopped immediately, called 911, and remained at the scene to cooperate with officers.
The victim was taken by EMS to a local hospital, where they remained in critical condition on Wednesday.
While the first driver stayed at the scene, police said surveillance footage recovered from nearby businesses showed a second vehicle — described as a white sedan with a black front bumper — traveling eastbound on 8 Mile Road. The footage appears to show this sedan striking the pedestrian while they were already lying in the roadway after the first crash.

Unlike the first driver, the driver of that white sedan did not stop and fled the scene, police said.

Meanwhile, anyone who can identify the wanted driver, or the suspect vehicle, or who has any other relevant information is asked to call the call the Farmington Hills PD at 248-871-2610.
