(WWJ) -- Two separate fires at two senior living centers in Metro Detroit broke out in just the last 24 hours.
Firefighters responded Tuesday night to a call reporting heavy smoke coming from a cafeteria area in the basement at Solaire Senior Living on Providence Drive in Southfield.
According to officials, fire crews were able to put out the fire, but smoke reached several levels of the building.
Two people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and a third person was treated at the scene and released.
Also on Tuesday night, officials said a fire broke out on the ninth floor at a senior apartment complex in Detroit, near I-75 and East Warren Avenue,
Residents of the apartments evacuated the high-rise while crews contained the blaze and managed to put it out without anyone getting injured.
There isn't word yet on the cause or extent of the damage for both fires.
