SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- With heavy rain coming down in parts of Southeast Michigan, there's a Flood Watch now in effect for Wayne, Macomb and Oakland counties.
This is after one to four inches of rain fell overnight in Metro Detroit.
The Flood Watch will expire at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24. (A Flood Warning for southeastern Washtenaw County expired at 9 a.m.)
The National Weather Service warns excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may also occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
AccuWeather Meteorologist Joe Lundberg said after some flooding in pockets in the early morning hours: "There's a drying trend coming in from the west, but it's very slow. So, look for heavy rain and a thunderstorm this morning, then a leftover shower or thunderstorm this afternoon."

It'll be a bit cooler throughout the day, Lundberg said, with the high only getting to about 71 degrees in Metro Detroit.
It'll stay wet for a bit, with a shower or two Wednesday night, when the low will get down to around 61.
There may be another shower on Thursday, before clouds with break for some sunshine, with a high up to 73 degrees.
Friday into the weekend is looking much nicer, Lundberg said, with plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid-70s into the low 80s.
