TYRONE TWP. (WWJ) — Michigan State Police say a fourth person has died as a result of a crash along US-23 last weekend.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday along southbound US-23 near Fausett Road in Tyrone Township, about 20 miles north of Brighton, according to investigators.

MSP said a 44-year-old man was driving south on US-23 when he lost control of his car, which overturned as it left the road.

Responding troopers found a 44-year-old woman, a 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl dead at the scene.

A 22-year-old man found injured at the scene was taken to a hospital in critical condition. In an update issued by MSP on Friday, police said the 22-year-old later died of his injuries.

The driver was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Sunday night.

Authorities have said all of the people in the car were related, and that the family was headed to an Easter gathering when the accident happened.

Police have not said what may have caused the crash, but noted that alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been a factor.

No names have been released.

Anyone with additional information about this crash can call MSP Trooper Joshua Pohl at 810-227-1051.
