FRASER (WWJ) – A police investigation is underway in Fraser after a reported stabbing Tuesday afternoon.

All evening activities at Fraser High School were postponed Tuesday while police investigated the alleged stabbing. Fraser Public Schools did not release any details about the incident in a statement Tuesday night, but said the school was placed on lock down around 4:45 and after police gave the "all clear" around 5:15 p.m., they decided to postpone all activities.

The reported stabbing may have involved a teenager, according to a report from the Macomb Daily.

Police have not released many details about what happened and one officer said no information will likely be released until Wednesday, according to the report.

While the school was placed on lockdown, school officials said the incident did not happen on campus.

Fraser Police were reportedly called to an incident in the area of Garfield and Klein Roads, near Richards Middle School.

Unconfirmed reports on social media say at least two teens were involved in a fight after school, which apparently led to a stabbing. It was not clear whether anyone had been killed in the alleged stabbing or if police had made any arrests.

"We know social media can be challenging to monitor and process. I encourage you to be aware of what your child sees on social media and in our community. I encourage you to talk with your child and make sure they are receiving accurate information," the statement from the school said.

School officials say they are cooperating with police in the investigation and said "the safety of our students, staff and community is our top priority."

Both FHS and RMS will be open on Wednesday, with counselors and social workers will be available to meet with anyone who needs to talk. School officials said Fraser police will be present at both schools.
