Former President Trump set to make weekend campaign stop in Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) Republican presidential candidate and former president, Donald Trump, is set to make a campaign stop on Detroit’s west side over the weekend.

He is slated to speak at a roundtable on Saturday (6/15) around 4 p.m. at Detroit’s 180 Church, on Stansbury between Schoolcraft and Grand River.

The event is invitation only. Doors open at 1 p.m.

This comes as the former president is in town to speak at The People’s Convention at Huntington Place, a three-day event from Friday to Sunday hosted by the conservative organization Turning Point Action. The event features about three-dozen prominent Republican guest speakers including former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, Detroit’s Dr. Ben Carson, Candace Owens, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and more.

Former President Trump last visited Michigan on May 1st, for a campaign rally outside a hangar at MSB International Airport in Saginaw County.

Saturday will mark 142 days until the Presidential Election of 2024.
