
DEARBORN (WWJ) — Gas prices in Michigan set a new 2024 high of $3.70 over the weekend. But on a more positive note, they've since declined slightly.
Drivers in Michigan are now paying an average of $3.69 per gallon of regular unleaded, as of Monday morning, which is 15 cents more than a week ago.
Metro Detroit's current average is $3.65 a gallon, which is about nine cents more than last week's average, but one cents less than this time last year. Motorists are paying the most expensive price in Marquette at $3.83 a gallon. The least expensive gas is in Traverse City at $3.61 a gallon.
As a whole, Motorists are paying an average of $55 for a full 15-gallon tank; a discount of about $3 from 2023's highest price last August.
