DETROIT (WWJ) - Baseball fans and golf enthusiasts will be treated to the best of both worlds this week as an exclusive, three-day event is set to tee off inside Comerica Park.

The Detroit Tigers and Upper Deck Golf have teamed up to offer the public exclusive opportunity to play a round of golf from inside the ballpark from Thursday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 8th.

"Players will be hitting tee shots from multiple levels within each stadium so be prepared to do some walking," Upper Deck Golf said. "Our courses will give the players the unique chance to experience and view each stadium in a way that is unavailable on your average game day!"

Upper Deck spokesperson Brian Graham tells WWJ's Ryan Marshall the event is part of a partnership with Stand Up 2 Cancer, a partner of MLB.

"Through that we've been holding a lot of these events at MLB ballparks. We also hold them at NFL and college stadiums, so we're on a nationwide tour," he said.

Tee times begin as early as 7:00 a.m., and as late as 9:00 p.m., with standard and VIP experiences available ranging from $79.99 to $109.99.

Fans who purchase VIP ticket will enjoy free entry into driving, chipping, and putting challenges, in addition to complimentary food and beverage items.

"A typical round of golf will take around 90 minutes. However, you’ll start and end your round at the clubhouse festival – so you are welcome to stay and enjoy the great music, cold beers, food and multiple golfing challenges with your friends or family," officials stated.

Only individuals with a reserved tee time will be permitted into the stadium.

Standard golf clubs will be available for players to use at each tee box. While guests are welcome to bring their own clubs, no drivers or fairway metals are allowed at Upper Deck Golf events, for safety purposes.

Registration for tee times have been open since early-September, but fans can still snag a tee time now at upperdeckgolfing.com/comericapark.

Tee times are limited and expected to sell out quickly. Officials said golfers should arrived to Comerica Park 45-60 minutes before your tee time.

"This will make sure you have plenty of time to check-in and pick-up your tickets. Once you have checked-in, an Upper Deck Staff member will escort you to your tee-box so you can start your round of golf," their website said.

Although dreary, wet weather is in the forecast for Detroit over the next couple of days, event organizers say the experience will go on, rain or shine.

"The event will not be cancelled or postponed for weather reasons," Upper Deck Golf warned. "We’ll be using our positive thoughts to keep the bad weather away, but if it happens just know we will still be there hosting the event."
