DETROIT (WWJ) Michigan State Police (MSP) are searching for a suspect in an apparent freeway shooting on I-94 on Detroit's west side.
According to MSP, the shooting occurred on Sunday, September 6, at approximately 1:49 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway near Livernois.
The victim told authorities the suspect followed him, pulled up alongside him, pointed the gun at his vehicle and fired one shot.
Troopers noticed a bullet hole on the driver's side door of the victim's vehicle. The round had traveled through the door and struck the side of the driver's seat, according to authorities.
The victim was not hurt.
Investigators ask anyone traveling in the area of I-96 or I-94 near West Grand Boulevard and Livernois around 1:49 a.m. (Sept. 6) to call Michigan State Police.
"If you witnessed anything suspicious, saw the vehicles involved, or have dash-camera video from the area around the time of the shooting, please contact investigators," State Police said in a social media statement. "Even information or video that may seem insignificant could be important to this investigation."
