WARREN (WWJ) A piece of machinery fell onto a young man while he was working his manufacturing job, Warren Fire officials said.
In a statement, The Warren Fire Department said they were called to DPR Manufacturing on Mound near Stephens on Friday (6/7/24) around 2 p.m. for an "industrial accident" involving an employee.
When they arrived, crews were met by other employees who said that they had removed heavy machinery that had fallen on a man in his twenties.
Rescue crews "quickly determined the employee was in cardiac arrest and had suffered other life-threatening crush injuries," fire officials said.
According to fire officials, crews started advanced life support procedures including CPR and an IV. He was moved onto a stretcher, loaded into the Warren Fire Department squad truck and rushed Priority 1 (lights and sirens) to Ascension Macomb Oakland, where the emergency department took over his care.
"Due to patient privacy concerns, no further information will be provided about the patient's medical condition," fire officials said in the statement.
