(WWJ) -- They're calling it a trifecta in the sky, and it's coming next week!

On Wednesday, May 26, there's a chance to view a "Super Blood Moon" if the sky is clear in Michigan.

It will be the biggest, brightest full moon of the year -- or a "Super Moon" -- because it is occurring when the moon is closest to the earth in its orbit.

Happening simultaneously will be a total lunar eclipse, known as a "Blood Moon," therefore creating a "Super Blood Moon."

A total lunar eclipse happens when the earth passes between the sun and a full moon, making the moon appear reddish in color. It will occur around 4:47 a.m. in Michigan, with the eclipse's peak happening around 6:02 a.m.

At that point, the earth will put one third of the moon in shadow, but viewers will have to act fact, as the moon sets just a few minutes later at 6:05 a.m.

Experts say the best way to view the phenomenon would be to find an unobstructed view on the horizon, so a quick road trip to a beach on Lake Michigan may be in order.
