SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- After one hot and stormy day in Metro Detroit, AccuWeather is calling for another.
The Nation Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory, in effect from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday (6/11) for all of Southeast Michigan, including Macomb, Oakland, Wayne, Washtenaw, Monroe and Lenawee Counties.
NWS warns that it'll be very humid, with heat index values up to 100 expected during the day. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
The forecasted high for Detroit on Thursday is 88.
AccuWeather Meteorologist Heather Zehr said showers and thunderstorms that were expected to hit Metro Detroit Thursday morning largely missed us.
But, as we head into the Thursday night, the Metro Detroit area is likely to see another thunderstorm or two. Heavy rain, hail and damaging winds are all possible.
She said the worst of the weather is most likely to hit during the second half of the night.
A Slight to Enhanced Risk remains in place for tonight. All modes of severe weather, including heavy rain, will be possible if line holds together. Have multiple ways to receive warnings, especially those that will wake you up overnight. #miwx pic.twitter.com/VnNMOJCXf1
