HOLLAND, Mich. (WWJ) - A historic building in West Michigan was destroyed early Thursday morning after a raging fire engulfed the structure in Neils' Dutch Village in Holland.

Video posted by and provided to WWJ Newsradio 950 by bystander Sandra Villarreal Lamblin shows the site completely up in flames, which Ottawa County Dispatch said broke out around 12:30 a.m. in a barn that was home to several animals.

"Caught this on my way home from work," Villarreal Lamblin said on social media of the fire. "It was pitch black and I could smell and see smoke coming from Nelis’ Dutch Village."

She said bystanders jumped into action and freed some animals who were inside the building by opening up gates.
