LIVONIA (WWJ) – HopCat, one of Michigan’s favorite restaurant chains, is bringing a new location to Metro Detroit.
HopCat is set to open its 11th location – the ninth in Michigan – next month in Livonia in the building formerly occupied by Claddagh Irish Pub off Haggerty near 6 Mile Road.
Cosmik Fries and endless craft beer options will be available at the 9,200 square-foot location that will feature 40 bar seats and 48 outdoor seats across two patios.
Area manager Joe Rainey says the restaurant is bringing new life to a spot that was loved by the Livonia community.
“Claddagh’s was a staple of this community and we were able to come in and kind of revitalize the concept. We put in some great big windows and put in an open concept,” he said.
A soft opening is scheduled for July 18, with the grand opening on July 24.
Rainey said thanks to a hiring center, they’ve been able to hire 89 employees, already approaching their goal of 120 with three weeks until training begins.
