(WWJ) -- Detroit has ranked No. 1 in several categories in USA Today’s 2024 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
Now, another Southeast Michigan city is getting its props!
When it comes to the Best Main Street in the United States, it was Howell that topped the list — and the Livingston County city was the only one in Michigan that made the cut.
The list of 10 cities was determined based on nominations “by an expert panel and voted by readers as the best in the U.S.,” with factors such as history, culture and community involvement considered.
“Grand River Avenue, the main street in Howell, is home to numerous historic buildings that now house a variety of unique shops and local eateries,” USA Today writes. “This street is where you'll find the Howell Opera House, as well as the popular 2FOG's Pub.”
Other U.S. cities with notable Main Streets named on the list include:
