(WWJ) Ice isn't hard to find around Michigan this time of year. But, because of the mild weather, ice on the Great Lakes is at a generational low.

According to NOAA data, the five Great Lakes had just 6% ice cover as of Feb. 16 — down from an average of 43% on that date over the past 50 winters.

On a new episode of The Daily J podcast, WWJ's Zach Clark looks at the dangers of this lack of ice on waterways across our state. (Click the play button above to listen).
