(WWJ) Detroit-area news personality Jason Carr has announced he'll be hosting his own show on social media.

The former WDIV TV host on took to Facebook on Wednesday to promote the launch of his new Facebook program he's calling, "Jason Carr Drive."

In a Facebook live announcement at around 8 a.m., Carr said this will be a one man band-style program, making clear that he will be working both in front of and behind the camera.

"One of the nice things about doing this, completely self-sufficient — I am your host, I am your writer producer, I'm your carpenter, I'm your artist, I'm your writer, I'm your useless fount of information... or fount of useless
and trivial information, back in effect."

Carr, former host of WDIV's "Live in the D," lost his job at the station late last year, after what was reportedly a heated argument with co-workers. The incident was streamed live during the Dec. 6 episode of Carr's Local 4+ program "Jason Carr Live."

Carr noted that it's been almost three months since he left TV. He took time to thank his fans and followers "for sticking with me and for all the positive comments and well-wishes."

"I have to say, in all sincerity and honesty, I missed you guys — guys, gals, peeps," Carr added.

The show — aired live from Carr's home, which he declared "Casa de Carr" — will apparently be presented in a news/talk format.

He said he plans to go live at around 9 a.m. every weekday; although the time may fluctuate.

"The nice thing about this is that I get to make up the rules on when I go live and when I don't," Carr said.

"...We’re gonna see where it works best, and then we’re going to go from there."

As for what the show will contain, Carr said he may have a co-costs, and may bring on guests, but he's still figuring that out.

A Plymouth native and Michigan State University alum, Carr had been with WDIV since 2016 after previously working at Fox 2.

"Jason Carr Drive" seems to be sponsor-supported. The first video included several live read-style ads.
