ALLEN PARK (WWJ) - Allen Park is getting a high-profile visit from Kendall Jenner, one of the youngest members of the famous Kardashian family, as she promotes her tequila brand on Wednesday.
Fans and tequila drinkers alike were were lined up outside Top Shelf Liquor, located at 6660 Allen Road, since the early morning hours for a chance to meet-and-greet with the 27-year-old model, socialite and businesswoman who is set to appear at the location between 1 and 2 p.m.
The celebrity's award-winning, small-batch brand, 818 Tequila, launched in 2021 and named in homage to Jenner's home area code in the San Fernando Valley and parts of Los Angeles County, Calif.
The spirit is made from 100% Blue Weber agave from local, family-owned farms in the Los Valles region of Jalisco, Mexico, the company's website states, meeting the strict regulations for making and labeling tequila.

Agave farmers, called jimadores, wait six to seven years to harvest the plant at peak maturity before it is slow cooked and the "mosto", or juice, is extracted. The mosto is then fermented for 70 hours and twice-distilled -- giving the 818 brand it's "distinct" smooth flavor -- and aged in oak barrels, the company explained.
Jenner's brand offers four different kinds of tequila -- Blanco, Reposado, Añejo and 8 Reserve, a blend of Añejo aged up to eight years.
818 Tequila has won 43 blind tasting awards at 13 international spirits competitions, including Gold Medal and Best Reposado at the World Tequila Awards.
